05/11/2012 Vulcan to the Sky Club Visit XM655

On another extemely wet Sunday morning, stalwarts of the VTTSC waded their way onto the saturated pan at Wellesborne to visit XM655.

With half the pan flooded, wellies would have been the recommended footware for the day, and with a brisk and very cold wind, thermal underwear as well!

Whilst waiting for their turn for the cockpit tour, the warmth and dry of watching the video of XM655 proved more popular than wandering round the outside of the aircraft!

Despite all, everyone seemed to enjoy the visit.

The afternoon contingent did somewhat better as regards the weather - the rain eventually stopped and the wind dropped, but it was still pretty cold.

Despite the weather XM655 performed faultlessly for both groups, demonstrating the AAPP, Bomb Door and Airbrake operation, external lighting, and the Powered Flying Controls
