07/07/2013 Cotswold Vale TR Register Visit XM655

In weather that can only be described as perfect, 24 members of the Cotswold Vale TR Club arrived all in their Triumphs.
In fact there were too many vehicles to fit them all in front of XM655 for the usual photo-shoot.

For a welcome change, Mike Pollitt, our chief pilot and retired Wing Commander, had joined the volunteers, and was duly introduced to the visitors. Mike was a real hero in so much as he did all 6 cockpit tours, and even with a cooler blowing cold air into the cockpit, that was a still a hot job on the hottest day of the year so far, for which we are very grateful.

Unfortunately, we were unable to give our visitors a systems demonstration as the electrical gremlins struck again and we were unable to power up the aircraft. Fortunately, they were very understanding, being well used to such problems with their own heritage vehicles!

All the visitors expressed their delight at the experience of getting "up close and personal" with our Cold War Veteran bomber, and we won't be surprised if we see them again in the future.
