2nd April 2016

The weather at the Wellesbourne pan today started cold and wet, which was nothing like the forecast. However, it dried up by mid-morning, and by the afternoon it was very pleasant indeed. We had a great day with lots of progress on a number of projects.

We were able to finish dismantling the old Houchin GPU, tidied up a large accumulation of scrap material from behind the workshop, continued with rivet drilling for de-skinning the No.4 elevon, finished preparation of the Nav Rad seat ready for painting, dismantled the spare Houchin TRU ready for major electrical refurbishment, removed the pump plate from the No.1 stbd fuel tank, and put the nose wheel on grease plates and set it exactly straight ahead ready for planned steering system calibration next weekend.

We had lots of help from the cadets of 150 (City of Oxford) ATC on their monthly visit. Although we had no booked parties visiting today, we had a steady stream of casual visitors throughout the afternoon.
