Farnborough was the alternative attraction luring away some of our volunteers today, but we still had enough folks to welcome an afternoon visit from the Nissan Skyline Owners Club.
Much of today at Wellesbourne was taken up by meetings (Wings and Wheels wash-up followed by the quarterly management committee) and with some volunteers away at RIAT we were a bit short-handed for a visit from the Aston Martin Area 15 Owners Club.
A quiet day at Wellesbourne today, as many of our volunteers were on a MaPS day trip to Yeovilton. In the afternoon we entertained a party of members of the Leicestershire and Rutland Landrover Club.
Five days at work to recover from last weekend’s exertions, and the 655MaPS team were back at the pan bright and early this morning. The aircraft was pulled out onto the taxyway for a photoshoot in preparation for a starring role on Flypast’s Christmas issue cover.
Many thanks to David Bryant of Morgan Fire Protection (sponsors of XM655) for completing our annual extinguisher servicing in time for Wellesbourne Wings and Wheels.
Lots of activity at XM655 today, including testing the canopy gas struts and checking lots of “triple feeder” fuses.
The main parties of visitors today were from the British Women Pilots Association and the Sheffield Advanced Motorcyclists Group.

Wet and windy at Wellesbourne yesterday, but nothing stops our hardy volunteers.
Lots of visitors at Wellesbourne today, with a large group from the Royal British Legion Riders in the morning, and a group of Ex-Engineers in the afternoon.
We enjoyed glorious weather for Wellesbourne Airfield Open Day today, and a continuous queue for cockpit visits for over six hours, involving well over two hundred people.
