A glorious start to our day with 655. The lovely weather played host to a group visit by the Douglas motorcycle owners club with people (and dogs!) from all over the country coming along with their beautiful bikes.
The day’s tasks consisted of continuing to “re-arm” the aircraft and repair work to one of our 1000lb’ers that suffered a mishap… further preparation work to the starboard wing and spine of the aircraft was done by Derek, which was no mean feat given the temperature!
The visiting group enjoyed a systems demo of the aircraft where she was brought to life and the control surfaces, lighting, airbrakes and bomb doors were exercised. They were then able to join some of our volunteers to learn about lot of things Vulcan.
A constant stream of casual visitors made for a busy and good day. Credit to Helen Loeffler, James Pritchard and Len Hewitt for the pictures.
