An extra update from us this weekend as our volunteers didn’t have a Sunday lie in… Instead, we were busy at the pan prepping the aircraft for some wet and dry cycles on the engines.

The little bit of cloud that was around to greet us soon gave way to a beautiful sunny day and XM655 looked stunning under the clear blue sky on Armed Forces Day, which we marked by flying a flag on the pan.

Vulcan XM655 was recently featured in an article on Forces TV News. To view this excellent video containing footage of the aircraft and an interview with Wing Commander (Ret’d) Mike Pollitt, please click on the link in this article

A glorious start to our day with 655. The lovely weather played host to a group visit by the Douglas motorcycle owners club with people (and dogs!) from all over the country coming along with their beautiful bikes.

Back to a grey start but that didn’t deter a couple of small pre booked tours, a good number of visitors or our volunteers…

Another grey and gloomy start to the day, which also brought some rather chilly winds (as can be seen by the (sometimes unseasonal) headwear! But despite this, we had a number of pre booked visits, including the AC owners club.

Well, what started as a grey morning developed into a very sunny and productive day.

A damp start to our day at XM655 at Wellesbourne today, but the weather soon brightened up and brought us lots of visitors to show around our wonderful aircraft.
Lots of sunshine and lots of visitors at XM655 at Wellesbourne today.
A busy day at XM655 at Wellesbourne today with a small Spice Group visit in the morning and a large party from the Rotary Club of Winslow in the afternoon, plus lots of casual visitors throughout the day.
